Lisa Morris Simon
Lisa Simon is Chairman of Morris Strategic Investments, a family-owned, commercial real estate investment business. During her career, she has held many leadership roles, including Chairman of the Board of the former Southern National Bank (SNB), where she was the influence behind developing the bank’s niche of preserving history while merging business and community service. During her tenure as Chairman from 1994 through 2006, Lisa oversaw the construction of four Thomas Jefferson-inspired buildings for Southern National Bank, “Monticello”, “Farmington”, “Poplar Forest”, and the University of Virginia’s “East Lawn” in Fort Bend and Harris counties, and helped distinguish the bank’s commitment to the community.
Lisa also serves as President for the Joella and Stewart Morris Foundation, a philanthropic supporting organization that targets entities that benefit the mind, body and soul. Other board positions include the Board of Trustees of Memorial Hermann Hospital Foundation, Houston Baptist University Board, Uptown Houston District Board (an appointment by the Mayor of Houston), Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest Board in Lynchburg, Virginia, and The Museum of Southern History Board.
Lisa is a licensed real estate agent in Texas, and a graduate of the FBI Academy. A member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Colonial Dames, Lisa’s Southern heritage is very important to her. Lisa was named one of Houston’s Women of Distinction at the Channel 13 Crohn’s and Colitis Ball in 2014, and is the recipient of many other awards and philanthropic endeavors.
Lisa and her husband, Jerry are the proud parents of Camella Clements, and Glenn Clements, Jr., and four wonderful grandchildren, Connor, Penelope, Amelia Rose, and Wylie.
